Lusanda Beja is a name that resonates powerfully within South Africa’s gospel music scene. Born on 28 October 1990, in the township of Gugulethu, Cape Town, Lusanda grew up surrounded by a deeply spiritual and musical environment. His grandparents, both pastors, instilled in him a profound sense of faith and a connection to worship from a very young age. This foundation laid the groundwork for Lusanda’s later journey into gospel music.

While his musical passion was ever-present throughout his youth, Lusanda’s career gained public momentum following his participation in the SABC2 reality competition I Want to Sing Gospel in 2008, where he stood among the top 30 contestants. This exposure not only highlighted his vocal talents but also opened doors in the music industry, providing invaluable connections and mentoring experiences. Despite the challenges and setbacks he faced trying to secure a record deal, Lusanda persevered, driven by a clear calling to inspire and uplift through his music.

His heartfelt album The Revelation of Grace is a testament to his creative and spiritual growth. The album, released nationwide, explores themes of salvation, grace, and personal breakthrough, and has been praised for its sincerity and soulful delivery. Collaborating with talented producers and musicians, Lusanda has crafted a unique sound that transcends borders.

Aside from his recording career, Lusanda is also an entrepreneur and marketing management student.  He founded BEMA Exclusive Events, a Cape Town-based company that organises various events including weddings, showcasing his multifaceted talents and business acumen. He also started his own record label, Ibeja Music, in 2010, under which he has released his albums. This business involves the creation and promotion of his music, including his albums like "Revelation of Grace" and "A New Thing". 

Lusanda Beja is set to officially launch A New Thing with two live concerts that promise riches of soulful worship and inspiring music. On 13 September 2025, he will be performing at the 3C Church in Centurion, Johannesburg, at 18:00. The second concert will take place on 20 September 2025 at the Christian Centre in Abbotsford, East London, also commencing at 18:00.
