The Journey and Trials of South African Rapper Shebeshxt

Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, better known by his stage name Shebeshxt or Malome Shebe, is a prominent South African rapper and musician who has made significant waves in the country’s music scene, particularly within the Amapiano and Bolo house (Lekompo) genres. Born on March 28, 1995, in Lebowakgomo, Limpopo, Shebeshxt’s journey from his humble beginnings to becoming a household name is a story of both talent and resilience.

Shebeshxt initially pursued studies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering before dedicating himself fully to music. He first gained recognition in 2021 with his breakout single "Ke Di Shxt Malume," which went viral on TikTok, earning him a broad audience and endorsements from notable artists like Focalistic. His energetic style and distinctive blend of contemporary sounds with traditional South African rhythms have distinguished him in the competitive music industry. Over the years, he has released several popular tracks, including “Shebe Ke Nna,” “Security Laka,” and collaborated with artists such as Naqua SA and Buddy Sax.

Despite his rising career, Shebeshxt's life has not been without tragedy and controversy. In June 2024, he was involved in a severe car accident on the R37 road near Smelters Mine in Limpopo, which tragically claimed the life of his nine-year-old daughter, Onthatile. Both Shebeshxt and his partner, Kholofelo Moloto, sustained injuries in the crash. This heartbreaking event was a turning point in his life and deeply affected him and his fan base.
