TIMMY THE KID RIDES INTO CINEMAS WITH A WESTERN-INSPIRED PREMIERE AT CINECENTRE NORTHGATE

The wild west came to Johannesburg on Tuesday evening as Timmy The Kid officially celebrated its premiere at CineCentre Northgate, bringing together cast, creatives, media, families and special guests for a night of eats, treats and plenty of western flair. 

Situated next to Total Ninja, the premiere created the perfect setting for a fun-filled, family-friendly celebration of the new South African family comedy. With children and adults alike joining in the festivities, the evening reflected the spirit of Timmy The Kid: playful, adventurous and made to be enjoyed by the whole family. 

Guests stepped into the world of Timmy The Kid, with the premiere embracing the film's playful western aesthetic and celebrating the journey of bringing this proudly South African family adventure to the big screen. 

Directed by Gray Hofmeyr, Timmy The Kid follows a young farm boy whose world is turned upside down when he heads to the city. What begins as a journey into unfamiliar territory quickly becomes an adventure filled with heart, humour and unexpected encounters. 

The film features a talented South African cast including Kenneth Nkosi, Lillian Dube, Celeste Ntuli and Sandile Mahlangu, alongside young star Timmy, as the story explores family, friendship, courage and finding your feet in a world very different from the one you know. 

The premiere was a fitting celebration for a film that brings together the charm of the South African countryside with the energy and chaos of Johannesburg. From western-inspired looks to delicious eats, sweet treats and family-friendly entertainment, the evening created an immersive celebration around the film and its characters. 

The film's light-hearted and family-friendly appeal was also reflected in the reactions from guests. 

Mbali Nkosi described Timmy The Kid as “a family movie full of good laughs,” highlighting its ability to bring audiences of all ages together for an entertaining cinema experience. 

Noxolo Dlamini called it a “fun, wholesome movie full of hilarious moments from Kenneth Nkosi,” praising the film's humour and the comedic moments that make it an enjoyable family watch. 

The event also highlighted the film's partnership with Total Ninja, whose venue alongside CineCentre Northgate added to the family-focused experience and gave young guests an opportunity to enjoy an evening designed with them in mind. 

Following its official premiere, Timmy The Kid is now showing at selected Ster-Kinekor cinemas and CineCentre cinemas nationwide, giving families and audiences across South Africa the opportunity to experience the adventure on the big screen.
